snyder says it will make them more competitive. the home, if you will, the unofficial home, of the labor movement, is now a right-to-work state. that's going to make for an interesting 2014 state campaign there. >>> the final race of 20912 election set for tomorrow thanks to the crazy ways louisiana does things. they have a run-off for a congressional race. it's a battle pitting the newly redrawn third district. it's republican versus republican there. >>> well, good news on the jobs front. helping to boost the markets at the opening bell. we've been telling you the november jobs report showed 146,000 jobs added for the month. top estimates all over the place by more than 50% tempering the optimism a bit, though, downward revisions both in september and october showing employers added 49,000 fewer jobs than originally estimated. well, we'll have the gaggle here early. get their take on the jim demint surprise, the bizarre -- well, it's less than bizarre but it was sort of like a ptsd from the romney campaign. much more. the state's republican governor, rick snyder, says he'll sign the right to work bill into law. even though he opposed this kind of anti-union push earlier this year. >> right to work is an issue that's a very devicive issue. people feel very strongly about it. so right to work is an issue that might have its time and place but i don't believe it's appropriate in michigan during 2012. >> how do you go from devicive and not appropriate to sure, i'll sign. just give me a pen? snyder has simply misled voters in michigan. this weekend, the detroit free press, a paper that endorsed snyder two years ago, read an editorial blasting his vote. calling him dishonest and grotesquely disingenuous. what's going on here? who's behind all of this? turns out it's some familiar faces. the coke brothers are up to their old tricks. these billionaires are helping to fuel the anti-union drive in michigan. the same way they did in wisconsin for governor scott walker. their goal now is the same as it was then. cripple unions in order to pad their corporate profits and take down a key source of support

rick snyder, a big supporter of this right to work legislation saying he will sign it if it makes it to his desk. many union workers vihamently oppose it. >> workers deserve the freedom to choose, and i think this is a good thing. >> this is absolutely not what's right for the worker. right now there are special interests that are trying to pass right to work in many different states, and michigan right now is up front right on the chopping block. >> why the opposition and why the massive protests here at the capitol. well, it's because those labor members really believe that this would result in lower pay for them, fewer benefits, less bargaining power, and what the data shows us is that typically union workers do make higher wages than nonunion workers. when you look at median weekly salaries. one labor lawyer that i talked to said this is hugely significant saying this could be devastating to the labor movement in america as a whole. what will happen over the weekend is that opponents of this right to work legislation will be out pounding the pavement trying to get the message out

governor rick snyder passing a new bill into law. ron motte is in lansing, michigan, with the latest. >> peace and quiet returned to the streets in the capital city. a far different scene than we saw here yesterday. about 10,000 people showed up. there was a lot of emotion on the lawn of the capital yesterday. a lot of the union workers believed this action was politically motivated, payback if you will for the successes of the democrats in michigan, but the president winning reelection as well. they think this is a death knell of the union in michigan. but the folks who advocated these changes to the workplace rules in michigan believe this gives workers more freedom, the freedoms they really should have to choose whether to join a union. the law will go into effect probably around april 1st or so. it's when the legislature ends its session now scheduled for december 20th. among the folks who lost this particular battle, believe this process should have included a lot more public debate. it was really rushed through the legislature
